Urban, National & Transnational Policy

This research theme explores the role of migrants and diasporas in sustaining cross-border social, economic and political ties and how these connections influence development in both origin and destination regions. The theme also examines the transformative impact of migration in urban settings, exploring how cities become sites of negotiation, belonging and innovative policy  through migrant presence. By linking the global reach of transnational communities with the local realities of urban life and development, this theme offers an integrated lens on migration as both a global and deeply localized phenomenon.
