This theme focuses on the historical roots and global patterns of migration. It examines storytelling across a range of media, about the causes, trajectories, lived experiences and legacies of migration across different eras and regions. Engaging a comparative approach, this theme maps the similarities and differences in migration experiences across time and place through representations, revealing how artistic expression is influenced by migration and its impact on political borders, economies and community formation.
