Our Mission

The mission of the Center for Immigration and Migration Studies is to serve as a leading hub for interdisciplinary research and dialogue on immigration and migration, and generate new knowledge and innovative solutions to address a complex global challenge.

Chartered in 2025, the Center for Immigration and Migration Studies (CIMS) is housed in GW’s Columbian College of Arts and Sciences. CIMS encompasses immigration research and global migration studies, bringing together scholars from diverse fields to facilitate interdisciplinary research.
